Binding Options To Fit Every Project
We offer eight distinct in-house binding styles to give your project the perfect finish. Whether you need something simple and fast or more premium and polished, we’ve got you covered. For specialty or high-end binding, we also partner with trusted vendors to deliver elevated results. The binding options listed below are available with quick turnaround times—perfect for rush jobs or last-minute deadlines.
Perfect Binding
Also known as softcover binding, this is a clean and professional option for books of all sizes. We use PUR glue for a durable spine that helps the book lay flatter and last longer. We can produce up to 2,000 books in-house, and for larger runs, we work with vetted partners to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
Hardcover Binding
Hardcover binding is a great choice for formal presentations and premium products. Our covers use a soft-touch laminate for a smooth, upscale finish. For larger quantities or specialty options like library-quality or lay-flat hardcovers, we’ve partnered with experienced vendors with our same standards.
Screw Post Binding
For a bold and modern presentation, screw post binding delivers a unique, high-impact look. We can bind sizes as large as 24 inches wide by 12 inches tall, making it ideal for large portfolios, architectural layouts, or creative projects that require standout design. It’s fully customizable and built to leave a lasting impression.
Tape Binding
Tape binding is a sleek and simple option for documents, presentations, and reports. A durable cloth or adhesive strip is applied along the spine to hold the pages together offering a clean edge. It’s ideal for lower page counts and provides a professional, polished appearance with quick turnaround.
Wire-O Binding
Wire-O binding combines function and style, offering a fully lay-flat design that’s perfect for manuals, workbooks, calendars, and reports. It’s sleek, professional, and doesn’t require glue, making it great for rush jobs. This binding allows for smooth page turns and adds a polished feel to any short- to mid-length project.
Plastic Coil Binding
Plastic coil binding is a durable and flexible solution ideal for materials that will be used frequently. Similar to Wire-O, it allows books to lay completely flat, but the plastic material adds extra resilience. It’s a great fit for training manuals, handbooks, planners, or cookbooks that need to hold up to heavy use.
Saddle Stitch Binding
Saddle stitching is a clean and economical choice for smaller booklets or brochures. It’s ideal for projects with lower page counts and full-spread images, as it has no gutter and offers a seamless visual flow. We also offer staple color options like black, red, white, gold, copper, and blue for a custom touch.
Padding Binding
Padding is perfect for specialty projects like notepads, tear-away books, or postcard pads. It offers a flexible, lay-flat look thanks to its soft glue, but it’s not recommended for high-use materials as the pages are meant to be torn away. It’s a fun and functional option for giveaways or creative promotions.
Paper Selection
Choosing the right paper is one of the most important decisions in custom book printing. It’s what connects your message to your audience—visually and physically. The paper you choose influences how your content feels, how your colors appear, and how your entire book is experienced. Below is an overview of the main considerations when selecting paper for your project.
The Feel of Paper
Paper feel, also known as the finish, plays a big role in how your final product looks and feels in hand. It affects everything from texture to ink absorption. Here are the four main categories of paper feel:
Gloss paper has a shiny, reflective coating that enhances color vibrancy and detail. It’s often used for magazines, catalogs, and photo-heavy projects because it makes images pop.
Silk paper is a smooth, coated paper with a subtle, low-sheen finish. It offers a refined look that’s less reflective than gloss, making it great for modern designs and professional booklets.
Uncoated paper has no surface coating, giving it a more natural texture and a soft, tactile feel. It’s perfect for writing on and adds a warm, authentic touch to projects like journals, notebooks, and high-end books.
Specialty papers include a wide range of textured, colored, metallic, and uniquely finished stocks. These papers are ideal for adding personality and distinction to your book and are great for custom covers, inserts, or limited-edition projects.
Cover Stock Vs Inside Pages
Many books benefit from pairing a heavier cover stock with a lighter interior page. This gives your book a solid structure while keeping it easy to handle and cost-effective.
80lb Gloss Text
Lightweight and smooth, perfect for brochures or magazines where vivid images are key.100lb Gloss Text
Slightly heavier than 80lb, this is ideal for catalogs, lookbooks, and high-end flyers.100lb Gloss Cover
A thick, durable option used often for glossy book covers or sturdy inserts.
80lb Silk Text
Offers a soft, refined feel—perfect for reading materials where minimal glare is preferred.100lb Silk Text
Heavier and more substantial, ideal for premium booklets or annual reports.100lb Silk Cover
A smooth, low-sheen cover stock that feels elegant and modern.
70lb Uncoated Text
Great for journals or books meant for writing—easy to mark with pen or pencil.80lb Uncoated Text
A step up in weight, offering a more substantial feel for zines, workbooks, or reader guides.100lb Uncoated Cover
Heavy, natural-feeling paper perfect for book covers or inserts with a tactile, matte finish.
Since specialty paper varies so much, weights depend on the exact texture or finish. Here are a few common options:
Textured 100lb Cover
Heavier paper with surface patterns like linen or felt for a classic, upscale look.Metallic Cover Stocks
Typically around 105lb–120lb, these shimmer under light and are ideal for covers or inserts that need to stand out.Color Stocks (80lb–100lb Cover)
Vibrant, pre-dyed papers used for inserts, title pages, or unique presentation pieces.
